Underwater Digital Camera

Having an underwater digital camera during your dives is great fun. At the start you can have something as simple as a disposable underwater digital camera but soon you will want to move on.

You can either choose from a company who specialising in producing underwater digital cameras like Sea & Sea or Sealife, or you could look at a Nikon underwater digital camera or even a Fuji underwater digital camera.

It is even possible to now have most non-underwater digital cameras in a special housing that allows you to go under the waves with your camera.

Learning to scuba dive gives you a fantastic hobby that you can do almost anywhere you can find a big enough body of water. People dive for many different reasons but one thing almost all divers want to do at some point is take back some memories of their dive. Having an underwater digital camera will allow you to do this.

The problem can be that most people are afraid that their camera will be flood when they take it underwater, or that after forking out a huge amount of cash for their underwater digital camera system they find out it isn't as easy as they thought, or that they just don't like it.

My advice is to anyone who has never taken a camera underwater before is to start cheap. Buy a disposable underwater camera and see if you are one of the lucky people who have a natural talent for digital underwater photography. It won't take you long to realise if you are or not, if you find you like it then it would be time to move on and get yourself a full underwater digital camera system.

If you have decided to get yourself an underwater digital camera then the fun really starts. The first thing you should do is research the type of system you actually want. Do you want an underwater digital camera that you only use on your dives? Or do you want to take your own camera that you have everyday on your dives? Is this going to be just a hobby? Will you try and make money from your pictures? Will your dives be to take photographs or will you take photographs on your dive?

These are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself before you even get to choosing what make you want, or should you buy a used underwater digital camera or a new one.
